Portrait Painting Commission Process

A portrait Painted in Oil or Acrylic will last for many generations, long after the family photos have faded or turned to dust.

I use both life painting sessions or photographs to create the portrait, In order to minimize the impact on your valuable time I will take a large number of photos at a short photo session. A selection will then be made from the photographs in discussion with you, prior to commencement of the actual painting process. (If the subject is not available please provide available photographs). At this time the commissioning contract will be signed. The client is then presented with a color sketch. The sketch is made on paper in color pencils to approve the pose, color and design. Upon your approval of the color sketch, the portrait is completed in one to two months. Before the handover the artist will be prepared to make minor alterations on the spot (if any)
